Last friday night i was sitting in my blind at 8:00 P.M. waiting for the hogs to come in. Had a set of white feeder lights on, doesn't seem to bother pigs. At 4 minutes till 9 a group of about 12 pigs came in, 2 were big sows. I was using my Barnett Jackal crossbow with barnett arrows with gream reaper broadheads. I shot one of the big sows at 9:06. I found the arrow about 20 yards from feeder minus the fletching end. Arrow was covered in blood but i noticed the broadhead never opened up it was still closed after passing through the hog. Just like shooting one with a field tip. Never found my hog. _________________ I'm Howie's friend and hunting buddy. I love to hunt & fish. |

| Sorry to hear that Elvis, but good to know for sure. I have been leery of trying the mechanicals with my crossbow which is a Barnett Predator. My main concern was that they would not have good penetration or that the blades would break before they got deep enough. I never thought that they would have a problem opening. I was afraid that they might open to soon like when I pull the trigger. Usually more moving parts = more problems. I did buy the NAP F.O.C.™ (Freakin Outrageous Cut) 3" because I have some buddies that recommended them on a crossbow forum. They are specifically made for fast crossbows. I will try them out on some hogs smaller than 100 pounds but I will continue to use my Excalibur bolt cutter Fixed blade Broadhead for the big ones. The bolt cutter worked good on this Boar. http://www.texasboars.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=21072 |

| Elvis, are you sure it didn't open? What will happen many times is that they will close back up when coming out and depending on what they hit. It is next to impossible for a Grim Reaper not to open because of their design.... |

| the hogs ive killed they worked good, also the tighter you screw them on the harder they are to open but your jackal has enough energy with the 450 grain arrow to open them. academy has the nap hellrazors for around 39.00 for 4 those will not fail and are easy to resharpen. hang in there youve heard of all the good ive done but havent heard of all the failures |
