Kevin I have your new CLASSIC RPG 3X9. Can you give me the minimum safe distance I can place it from the area I expect the hawgs to show up?

Thanks,

Dave Cool

Dave, I can't answer for Kevin Ryer, but I can tell you I have that same light. I set mine up about 35 yds from the killzone and hunt another 15 yds behind that. Works good. Kevin told me I should elevate it, but I've been too lazy. I did put up some pallets I painted white behind the killzone, that works for me.

Kevin is out of town right now, so he wont be able to answer your post for a few more days.

He is not neglecting you.

Yup, Kevin will be back soon. He's out of pocket fishing.

HEY VTDW Exclamation

The great thing about the CLASSIC RPG 3X9 is the three independently adjustable lights. This gives you a lot more options.

This also makes this a tricky question to answer.

I don't recommend any installation closer than 50 yards and a height of at least 10 to 12 feet. At 50 yards you would need to adjust your three lights to cover a wider area as opposed to all three shining at the same spot. That would be extremely bright.

For the 3X9 I would highly recommend no closer than 75 yards and out to 100 yards at a height of at least 12 feet -- preferably higher. --- Adjust the lights just bright enough that you can see comfortably (without straining your eyes).

In other words, the closer you are, you will need to separate the light beams and cover more ground. At further distances you ill find it necessary to combine the beams to intensify the light so you can see more comfortably.

Thanks Kevin. I had to point one or two lenses straight up a few times with the old Classic so that will be natural for me with this new RPG. Good to know the safe distances and thanks for the advice. Now to figgir how to git-R-up. Wink
