Well that calls it my night. I have to get up to guide a deer hunt so I'm gonna go to sleep. Wind had picked up and the activity has slowed anyways.
Would have liked to get two more to make it my best personal night but oh well!!

I figured the hogs would be out tonight down in your area.

Almost got stuck in the mud at the lease in Niederwald this morning. Started raining last night about 11pm and was still coming down steady when I left around 10am today.

You all need the rain bad down in Central Texas, and the weather guy in Austin seems to think you'll get it the next few days!

A 1 man hog killing machine!!

Ok, I was sitting on the porch last night and we spotted these hogs about 150 yards away and I had to drive around the ranch to get down wind. I thought they would come out in this u shape feild but they stayed along the woodline and went straight for the truck!
I was walking back with the 3 other guys and we ran across them again, they where between the truck and us! All of a sudden the real big ones barked and I slung the 6.8 up on the sticks and got busy!
First one was DRT straight through the brain, second was DRT straight thru the shoulders as well as the 3rd and 4th. The 5th was laying down about 200 yards from us and as I closed the distance she had to act stupid and got up and ran!
Well I learned last night I can't shoot as well as HUEY off handed but I did kill her on the 3rd shot.
My first shot was too far back but the second hit the sweet spot. She was probably 150#

I love looking thru the NV and seeing 5 dead hogs! Very Happy

Has to be groups moving around and covering large areas.
I can't see how a resident population would or could take that much loss and stay
in a given area.

After watching his videos and seeing 50 hogs in a field I can see why they are not diminishing in numbers, if 50% are breeders that can add an extra 100-150 extra inside of 12 months.
