Big Russian Boar on the 4B. Not the heaviest but a combination of heaviest with big cutters. Did I mention he is #1 in class?
It was 18 degrees with a 20 mph north wind that morning.... Cold as it gets in Texas here.....
Big animal....
I would normally reserve the really big animals for my paid hunters but I also thought that this was my ranch and why shouldn't I take a big animal. If you look at the scores, you'll see that this animal out scored the nearest animal by almost 100 points. He was the perfect combination between weight and tusk length.
He's not the biggest, but the diameter of his tusks, and the length of his tusks combined with the weight made him the king! I probably should have left him out there for breeding. Still, we have some big boars on the 4B. We have some really nice whitetails, blackbuck antelope, and axis deer. Still, our bookings are for record Russian Boar. _________________ 4B Ranch - Ovalo, Texas

Highlight and use the "copy" function, not "copy link location".
Then paste in a new browser window.
That worked here.
Photos had the "img" tags removed because the photos are over sized. _________________ TB Forum Janitor |

Thanks guys... I'd have to be looking at the score sheet to say what the tusk size was and I'm not at the ranch right now but they were over 3 inches but the diameter was awesome. I didn't mount him but I did have the skull done. He's proudly displayed in the lodge! _________________ 4B Ranch - Ovalo, Texas

Paul, that is a big, big hog. WOW, way to go.
You need to enjoy the fruits of your labors every now and then and shooting the biggest on the ranch is your option to take. _________________ 2012- 11 pigs Down.
