Last night was my first time to hog hunt since Jan. First hog was at 40 yards. Missed that one. Big mental error. Realized I was never really aiming but put crosshairs on animal.
2nd Hog about an hour later took my time to set up. Because of wind/position I went for a 70ish yard shot. Yep missed that one. Plus the smoke from my .204 was so thick couldn't get follow up shot.
3rd I crawled up to a raccoon 35 yards. Missed that. Again smoke Sotho k couldn't get follow up shot.
A very very bad night. O Well. It was fun

Were you using NV at the time ?
Wonder if it turns out the .204 is zeroed ?
If it is, what conclusion might we get from that ?
As in, they were hit but ran off ? _________________ Ban guns to eliminate crime ?
Let's ban cars, to eliminate drunk driving.
Makes as much sense. |

| Doesn't that 204 get over 3000fps? Even a fmj would tear up flesh at that speed, no? I wouldn't think they'd go too far if wounded. |

Much faster, more like 4,000 fps or more in factory loads, depending on bullet
weight and barrel length.
The .204 is a varmint cartridge. Very fast light weight bullets, .20 caliber.
Heaviest bullet is 45 grains from what I've seen so far.
Varmint bullets are designed to blow up when they hit.
It can kill pigs, but good shot placement helps a lot, as always. _________________ Ban guns to eliminate crime ?

| Wow, that's fast. Talk about dead before you hear the shot. Well, at least if you hit em in the neck. |

I've killed 2 with my .204 one of them being the biggest sow on my property to date. I go for ear hole shots with my .204 that's why I get close. I am using .40 gr sp traveling right at 4k.
Im swapping my pulsar putting it on my 7.62x39 keeping it there for my hogs always gun and putting my ATN on my .204 or varmints. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/SpecialEd309
