I have mostly hunted with a bow up to this point, but this relapse of my MS has caused alot more problems, so I think from now on most hunts will be bow. I even have handicapped status and can put in for handicapped hunts and shoot from my truck.
AR's are approaching bolt guns for accuracy, and follow-up shots are quicker. So I just like shooting them, although I have a few I built that I have not shot. But it sure is fun deciding which gun(s) to take on a hunt. |

| You know you have so many instead of building me one you should sell me one of your builds. Then we could try it out here with you when you come to hunt with me! |

good deal, thought I deleted it.
Anyways, dug out my Manson gauges and rechecked the headspace with the stag bolt and Young Match side charge carrier, it is fine, I think the PTG gauge is a little loose, going to check some others and see how they are, i usually use the Manson gauges....
so, time to get out and shoot this gun, may get out tomorrow to break it in |

| got it out today, used the Tubbs Final Finish system on it. Shot some groups with 95gr TTSX and 120gr SST's, the SST's shot more accuracte but wasn't impressed. Part of the problem is the 1 MOA dot on the Vortex Scope, great for hunting purposes at certain ranges, but not good shooting a 1 MOA square ....so will have to change the way I aim, use the top of the dot on the bottom of the square or something. Not sure the groups, most were 1.5 MOA or bigger I believe. |

| yes, i shot at first with the scope turned off, and then with it on, didn't make a difference....I think also that the dot with the scope turned off broke up a bit, in other words the dot wasn't solid anymore, will look at it today |

| I already got my replacement Vortex because the crosshairs turned sideways, I hope it has no more problems, but they do carry a lifetime warranty! |

| i looked at it again, its hard to see, but the dot doesn't look solid when shooting/sighting at longer ranges, however with the illumination turned on it looks ok. I just don't like a 1 MOA dot, I have a old tasco world class tac scope that has a 1/8 MOA dot, its currently on my varmint gun, .17 Remington, I may switch it over, or pick up one of the Weaver scopes that Bill W posted |

| Well not sure i NEED BETTER THAN A 1 moa...LOL but if it is separating that is not good, I knew the red dot was a 1 MOA but the center dot is too on the Vortex?. I guess I missed the scope he had for sale, I am always looking for scopes. |
