Sold my KelTec PF9 and today got a Glock G 26, 9mm, Gen 4. This will be my lease and primary carry gun, shooting the 147gr HP and more mags than I need. The LaserMax will have to wait till I can afford it...after resisting the Force for all this time I am now part of the Glock Community, I feel all grown up! LOL

Well I figure when the world is falling apart, the rest of the gun are rusting and not functioning the Glock will keep performing and no matter all the guns I have it will still be there. I like the 9mm and can afford hundreds if not thousands of rounds for it...

My hunting buddy has several and loves his, I may get another but this will be the lease and primary carry, and I got it less than the LEO discount, it is 1 1/2 month old with 400 rds fired.

Congrats on getting a Glock. Glocks are great guns. I carried a 19 for over ten years when I was with the GCSD. It was great for on and off duty, very reliable.

I've sort of gone through an evolution so to speak. Before my years with the Glock I was a solid 1911 shooter, using a series 70 .45 Colt. It was too heavy for duty carry, and our department didn't want us carrying cocked and locked, so I went with the much lighter and department approved Glock. Now, that I'm not with the GCSD any longer, I'm back to the 1911. Now day's I shoot a Kimber Eclipse Custom 1911 .45. And, I LOVE it. Sooner or later I'll try to find me another Series 70 cause it was a sweet gun. But, for now, the Kimber keeps me company.

good deal Frank, yep i'm a Glock fan, I have a few of them, my carry gun is a Glock 27 .40 when concealed, Glock 20SF 10mm when out in the woods

I've also owned several Glocks, and my current carry pistol is the Model 29 Compact 10mm with Crimson Trace Laser Grip.

Congrats! I have two Glocks and I love them! I have put down a large amount of ammo through both and they also cycle flawlessly. i wish i could say the same thing for the M9!

I too got one the other day. It is a 20SF in 10MM. I picked up the Laser-Max at Cabela's today. Will be setting it up and trying it out soon.

I found a Lasermax for mine at $284, has to be special for the gen 4 sub compact. My buddy has the hunting barrel and a viridian green laser on his G 10mm and love it! Mine is a primary carry gun, but will take to the lease as a sidearm.

Well, as the day started out, I had a Glock 29 in 10mm

By the end of the day I ended up with a Para-Ordnance 12.45 LDA
Nice thing I still had 2 extra mags from a P-12/45 I had in the past

Oh yeah, almost forgot...I got $200 cash in hand with the deal Very Happy

The seller at the Gunshow had it listed for $425, I wanted $650 for my Glock, 3 mags, Crimson Trace Laser Grip, and 4 boxes ammo..He talked me down to the $200 difference...OK, I'm easy.... Rolling Eyes

Shame he didn't have any more deals like that..
I still can't remember why I sold my P-12 I had earlier...They are great for carry guns..

I have a Glock 19, and love it. Next on my list is a Glock 20. That 10mm is one heck of a round.

Never been a fan they just don't fit my hand well. Glad you like yours. Been carrying my sig 220 or my CZ PO1 in aloy frame.

Well here goes. I went with the M&P because I could get it with a thumb safety. For concealed carry. The Glock thing is always "trusted and carried by law enforcement". Thats great, but law enforcement is not trying, and doesn't have to, stick'em in their pants like us concealed carry people.

Hey it is always better the get what fits and you feel comfortable with. I have 2 holsters and you have to pull the trigger for a Glock to go off...lol anyway, I succumbed and have one now.

the Walther P99as .40 fits mine perfctly
as does the Springfeild XD's

I have tried the XD's and the trigger pull and travel were too hard and long for me. I much prefer the triggers on the Glocks.

Takes getting used to for sure but I love everything else about it so I powered thru it, now I dont even notice.
Of course I do toss hay bales around 1 handed all the time so too much pull to some folks is a "glass" trigger to me Laughing

Frank...on installing the 3.5lb spring and transfer bar on the Glock...It isn't really that hard, but do have to be somewhat triple ambidextrous.. Rolling Eyes

There are videos on youtube, and Brownells and Midway have videos online for help. My Buddy's son bought one and tried to install himself..I finally got to put it in for him after he got too tired from beating his head against the wall and chasing that pesky spring down... Laughing

Marty, waaay back in the day, a fellow deputy let me carry his 1911, I really felt uneasy with the "cocked and locked" thing. But the cool thing was that he also had a .22 barrel for it. That made my introduction to the use of the 1911 much easier, not to mention much more inexpensive to practice with. Did you ever have access to the .22 barrel to plink with? C'ya Smile

Ah yes the Block, er...Glock. Always felt like I was grabbing a 2 x 4 on edge. Yuk.
1911 type here. On those rare occasions when I lower myself and actually shoot
a 9 silly meter, I'll use a CZ 75. That one feels really good in my hand.
Other than those, I usually use a Ruger Blackhawk of some sort, or
a N Frame S&W.

Ha ha. Yea, the grips on the Glocks are a bit square and take some getting used to. Several old timers in the department used to make fun of me for packing that "silly plastic pistol". But, for the conditions at the time it worked well for me. And was department approved.

Like you, I still prefer a 1911. The 1911 takes a bit more training and practice to master. And it requires a bit more maintenance. But, its more pleasing to the eye, easier to shoot well for me, more comfortable in the grip, and a classic design which I really enjoy shooting.
