Just finished up a real effective hog killer..............
Browning BAR short track synthetic .308
Cut bbl to 16.1" and threaded 5/8-24
Installed our new generation Whisper suppressor
Tuned trigger
Armor-Tuff finish on steel parts
Trijicon Accupoint 3-9x40 green/crosshair
Talley lightweight one piece mounts
Recoil is like a comparable weight .243 in a bolt gun. My reloading room is kaput due to a re-model project so just shooting factory Federal 150gr Fusion and it's grouping right around an inch. We have shot 4 hogs so far with it, largest 240# (weighed). Bullet performance has been very good and I'm getting 2700fps out of the 16" bbl.
Overall a pretty cool set-up, will try to post a pic if I can remember how................. _________________ Bill Wilson

yea post up a pic if you get a chance Bill, would like to see what it looks like
although you have to get those mag changes down if there is a whole sounder, doesn't it hold only 5 rounds? more than plenty for most situations |

| The optimum hog rifle? It's the US Rifle Cal 30 M1. If it was good for killing facists and communists it is good for killing hogs. |

He has a point there, hehe.
facists, commies, hogs - your three main varmint groups.
So, the M-1 is a varmint rifle. _________________ Ban guns to eliminate crime ?
