I finally got out to make a trip to Housemans south ranch.I went out with 1 strike dog and 6 catch dog pups that I was training.I got smoked by 2 big hogs and ended up with this tasty piece of bacon.I hunt with a handicapped guy that handles the dogs for me from the boat or 4 wheeler, once the strike dog had this piglet bayed I hollered for him to let a catch dog go,next thing I know he had let all 6 dogs loose and they all had a good bite.It wouldnt have been so bad but I only had 2 lead ropes and the nearest trees to tie them up were about 300 yards away.I never worked so hard for such a small pig in my life.I knew my buddy was physically handicapped but had no idea that he was mentally challenged as well Very HappyI normally wouldnt bother to post pics of such a small hog but its been a good while since I have been able to hunt and I was glad to get on anything

Lets try to set something up next week Dustin,I am tied up with my daughters softball all weekend so hunting is out.The gators are out full force on the river so I believe I will wait until next winter before I make that trip again.Almost lost a dog to a big gator but the 40 cal saved him.Crazy dog didnt even know the gator was swimming behind him.I lost a good rabbit dog yrs ago in the same area so I am gun shy of this place when they are out.We can hit my lease on the Sabine in Old Salem or we can come down there to you. This lease runs from the Sabine all the way to hwy 87,about halfway in between Deweyville and Newton. Its sounds like I would do better coming to Dequincy. What kind of hours does your hunting buddy work?
